Metallica Planning 3D Feature Film?

October 23, 2011 0 comments

Might be a weird week to be Metallica . The band is on the verge of releasing Lulu , a collaboration with Lou Reed that has earned some of the most scornful reactions I’ve ever seen directed at any album in any genre. But no matter what happens, reviews be damned, Metallica keeps on going. I can respect that, even if I can’t respect all of the work the band does.

October 22, 2011 0 comments

Briefly: You might remember a couple weeks back when a rumor cropped up that Universal and director Justin Lin are looking at shooting the next two films in the Fast and the Furious franchise back to back . Now there is corroboration for that story. Not only is the studio looking at shooting the two films back to back during 2012, the LA Times says the movies could contain one “single story connecting the two films.”

‘Piranha 3DD’ Scream Awards Teaser Trailer

October 21, 2011 0 comments

Here’s the first teaser footage from Dimension’s Piranha 3DD , the sequel to Alexandre Aja’s revival of the Piranha series. If this teaser is to be believed, Feast director John Gulager hasn’t changed the formula at all, so this sequel has some sort of story (featuring David Hasselhoff ) partially pushed to the background as another group of partying bikini-clad beach babes gets chewed up by hungry prehistoric fish.

James Cameron Says ‘Avatar 2′ Will Focus on Ocean Issues, Tours Future Site of Disney’s Avatar Land

October 20, 2011 0 comments

Apparently, one of the most essential qualities of an Avatar fan is patience – Avatar 2 isn’t hitting theaters until 2014, and Disney World’s Avatar-land won’t open until years after that. But in the meantime, we have a couple of tidbits on what to expect from the future of the franchise. Director James Cameron recently offered some hints as to what Avatar 2 might look like, and went for a walk around Disney’s Animal Kingdom to explore the future site of the Avatar attraction. More details after the jump.

‘Zombieland’ Sequel May Turn Into a TV Show

October 19, 2011 0 comments

It’s a busy time for Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick . They were just announced as the screenwriters for the Micronauts film that Hasbro is developing with J.J. Abrams, and now the two are officially in the Zombieland fold once more. But this isn’t for that Zombieland sequel that most of the principals have been talking about ever since the first film turned into a surprise hit. There’s been a lot of doubt that a theatrical sequel would ever come together, thanks to difficulties with scheduling and the higher salary quotes for several of the actors.

Actress Sues IMDb for Revealing Her Real Age

October 19, 2011 0 comments

As the frequent targets of damaging rumors, Hollywood actors sue for defamation all the time. But apparently, there are cases in which the truth can be every bit as harmful — and possibly illegal — as a juicy lie. An actress identified only as “Jane Doe” is suing Amazon.com subsidiary IMDb for posting her true age and legal name, on the basis that the website obtained the information through unlawful means and that the subsequent exposure has been damaging to her career. More details after the jump.
