James Cameron Explains How Sigourney Weaver Might Appear in ‘Avatar 2′

October 13, 2011 0 comments
When James Cameron does interviews, he loves setting the record straight. He was in New York Monday night to receive a Breakthrough Award from Popular Mechanics . While on the red carpet, he commented on the voice cameo viral video that we recently published, the Avatar world that will be opening at Disney and also Sigourney Weaver ‘s comment that she’d be returning for Avatar 2 even though she died in the first film. That last bit, in particular, is of interest because Cameron’s answer provides a glimpse into the structure of the 2014 sequel. Read his quote and more after the jump.

Watch a New Halloween Short From ‘Trick ‘r Treat’ Director Mike Dougherty

October 13, 2011 0 comments
This may be the most adorable gory little Frankenstein movie you’ll see this week. Mike Dougherty hasn’t had a film in theaters since the great Halloween anthology Trick ‘r Treat (which actually never got a real theatrical release — it went straight to DVD in the US) but the director makes the occasional short.

USS Enterprise CVN-65

Sixteen feet long, five feet wide, and four feet tall, this 1/72 replica of the US Navy’s “Big E” represents nineteen years of builder Gabriel Suryani’s hobby, and has been called “something that is close to the limits a single modeler can achieve.” It was featured on the 15th anniversary cover of Fine Scale Modeler , in 1997, the same year that Mr. Suryani himself was hosted aboard the real Enterprise for 2 days, compliments of the captain, in recognition of his work. No one photo is likely to do the model justice; fortunately this detailed page at carrierbuilders.net has over 100. Be careful—it’s a major click-trap.

Sony Buying Film Rights to Steve Jobs Biography

October 8, 2011 0 comments
How would you characterize a deal to create a feature film based on a collection of interviews with the late Steve Jobs , as it is announced mere days after his death? Crass commercialism? Fitting tribute? Perhaps simply good business sense, something that Jobs himself would understand, if not exactly admire?

Kiefer Sutherland Says ’24′ Movie Script Is Almost Done

October 5, 2011 0 comments
About sixteen months have passed since Fox’s hit action series 24 ended its successful eight season run. Since then, star Kiefer Sutherland and the show’s creators have been asked ad nauseum about a long rumored movie that would continue the story of American hero Jack Bauer who saves the world in 24 hours. Every few months, a little bit more is added to the rumor mill be it a rejected script , release window , possible start date , rumored directors and more. The latest news comes from Sutherland himself who not only spoke about the difficulties in adapting the show for the big screen but said a script is almost done. When does that mean we might see the movie? Read what he had to say and figure it all out after the jump.

Wes Craven Says ‘Scream 5′ Likely to Happen

September 29, 2011 0 comments
Scream 4 was enough of a box-office disappointment when it opened this spring that it seemed to curtail all the rumors about it being the first of a new Scream trilogy. But like its plucky heroine Sidney Prescott ( Neve Campbell ), the Scream franchise isn’t one to die easily. The fourth installment ultimately ended up pulling in about $97 million worldwide on a $40 million budget, apparently enough that director Wes Craven is now saying that a  Scream 5 is very likely to happen. Read his comments after the jump.

Disney Reveals More Details About Planned ‘Avatar’ Theme Park Addition

September 23, 2011 0 comments
Yesterday, the Walt Disney Co.  announced their plan to bring Pandora to the Magic Kingdom, in the form of an  Avatar -themed attraction at Walt Disney World. While the decision made sense on a lot of levels — Pandora actually seems like it’d be fun to visit, and an attraction based on the top-grossing film of all time is bound to make tons of money — the initial reveal offered few answers to the obvious questions. Such as: Where? When? Why? How?

‘Blade Runner’ Producer Says Not to Expect a New Film Before 2014; Harrison Ford Not Likely to Return

August 20, 2011 0 comments
The biggest news of the day — and likely the week, perhaps even the month — is that Ridley Scott has agreed to direct a film that will be either a prequel or sequel to his 1982 classic Blade Runner . Details on the project are very thin right now; besides the simple fact of Alcon Entertainment holding the rights to make the film, and Scott agreeing to direct, there are no specifics.

All I want to know is, if this is real and if so where can I get some.
