Here’s a pretty interesting photo I found on Reddit this morning. It’s amazing the size difference in only 20 years. Makes you wonder how big that chip will be in the next 20 years. Click the hot for a larger image.

I was actually talking about the cost of a 1GB card today vs. a year or two ago….crazy. Great pic.

Lol, yeh things are going far quickly. But to be honest, I don’t think that 20 years from now we’ll still have 1GB things available ;) . It’s going so rapidly the smallest available then will probably be a 1TB chip instead :P .

I think this is the IBM 3380 Direct Access Storage Device introduced in June 1980. It used new film head technology and had a capacity of 2.52 gigabytes with a data …
