Apple to possibly debut completely redesigned iPhone in Fall 2012

BGR has just reported that Apple is possibly debuting a completely redesigned iPhone in the fall of 2012, following the trend first set by the iPhone 4S, of new Apple products being launched later in the year, instead of mid-year releases. According to the report, the new iPhone will incorporate an aluminum back panel (similar to that of the iPad 2) rather than the glass found on the current iPhone models, the iPhone 4 and 4S.

Steve Jobs pledged “thermonuclear war” on “grand theft” Android

Steve Jobs described Android as a “grand theft” of iPhone technology, promising to “go thermonuclear war” to “destroy” Google’s smartphone platform according to a new biography of the Apple founder. In a subsequent heated meeting with Eric Schmidt, then CEO of Google, Jobs refused to consider any sort of settlement to the lawsuit Apple filed, arguing that his company had “plenty of money” and telling Schmidt “I want you to stop using our ideas in Android, that’s all I want” according to a copy of the book obtained early by the  Associated Press .

After posting some downright amazing sales numbers earlier today, free adoption of the iPhone 4S’ most important addition has reached its own milestone. One out of every three Apple devices across the iPad, iPhone and iPod lines is currently running the new iOS 5, at least among those devices that qualify for it. That’s the iPhone 4 and 3GS, the iPod Touch’s third and fourth generation, and all current models of the iPad.
