EB Expo 2011: Interview with Battlefield 3's DICE

October 17, 2011 0 comments

Battlefield 3 is on shelves in less than two weeks and he seems surprisingly relaxed. The same goes for his colleague. Both of them have been on the road for two straight weeks. First Moscow, then Sydney, and now here on the Gold Coast for the EB Games Expo. Today, they fly home to Sweden via four different planes. Presumably to lay in wait for the game’s release and get some well-earned rest.

Huge Final Fantasy XIV update, PS3 version next year

October 15, 2011 0 comments
Yes, Final Fantasy XIV  is still a game. Today, Square Enix announced " Final Fantasy XIV 2.0″ alongside the news that the game is releasing for PlayStation 3 at some point between October and December of next year. This update better be amazing or else I don’t think the game can stay relevant for another year.

Julianne Hough’s Sweet Lingerie Top

October 14, 2011 0 comments
It looks like Julianne Hough has really dedicated herself to promoting her new remake of Footloose by stepping up her game a little, which is awesome because she’s normally kinda boring, I blame Seacrest. Here she is looking pretty good in her sexy lingerie top and denim combination. I like it. She’s really starting to look like an obnoxious high maintenance celebrity princess, she’s even got the mandatory glass of champagne and adorable puppy.

Play With Chucky As ‘Child’s Play’ Video Game In Development

October 13, 2011 0 comments
Everyone’s favorite sadistic Good Guy doll Chucky might not be coming back to the big screen but he could be coming back to the small screen. Rumors of a new Child’s Play movie have been circling for years . However with little to no movement of late, it’s probably best not to hold your breath. Instead, fans of the series should probably turn their attention to a possible Child’s Play video game.

Microsoft employees claim to be working on next Xbox

October 13, 2011 1 comment
I think we all knew when the Nintendo Wii U was unveiled back at E3 that other next gen consoles would be coming too. It’s also safe to say that shortly after one version of a game console launches, the next is being worked on. When some workers at Microsoft hint they are working on the next Xbox, take it with a grain of salt. They probably could have said they were working in it years ago.

Nintendo to offer blue Wii in Mario & Sonic 2012 Olympics game

October 13, 2011 0 comments
If you are a big fan of special edition bundles, the Nintendo Wii is getting a cool bundle to celebrate the 2012 London Olympic games. The bundle will be offered in Europe only and is more of a place blue than a dark Sonic blue hue. The bundle is the Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. It’s worth noting that this is a Wii model with no GameCube support.

Mortal Kombat reboot now a reality via viral YouTube video

October 5, 2011 0 comments
If you’re a fan of one of the most famous fighting-based video games of all time, Mortal Kombat, certainly you’ve heard of the YouTube fan series “Rebirth.” Oh you haven’t? You’re in for a treat. Not only is the story at hand a rebirth of the film series based on the video game, its a rebirth of the career of the filmmaker whose only other notable work is an unsuccessful remake of “Fame”. The short film that started it all was created out of love for the series – and a desire to reboot the series. Turns out his gamble (and the good timing with the newest installment of the video game series) payed off because Warner Bros. is giving the creators the green light.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations PC pushed into December

October 1, 2011 0 comments
Ubisoft seems to be having quite a bit of trouble getting PC releases of its multiplatform titles out on time. The latest game to be struck with a delay is a rather big one: Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. While the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are on for November 15, PC gamers will have to wait until December.

Microsoft Outlines Future Plans in Japan

September 30, 2011 0 comments

Microsoft’s presence at E3 is huge. They’ve got a massive press conference stage (pictured above), an equally enormous booth, and enough free swag on offer to fill up a Camry. The company’s presence at the Tokyo Game Show, on the other hand? Not quite as much. MS’s booth at TGS was maybe half the size it usually is, getting dwarfed by the presentations put on by Sony, Capcom, and even Japanese social-game giant Gree.

“We would like to have as large a space as possible in order to have lots of people play our products,” said Takashi Sensui, head of Xbox operations in Asia, in an interview with Famitsu magazine published this week. “To be honest, though, given the scope of our Japan business, it’s just difficult to produce such a huge booth. Our intention here was to use the space we had as best we could to get the most gamers trying out the best titles we had. We didn’t have as many titles as usual, but I believe we had an extremely nice lineup, something I think anyone who was there could see. We’ll be trying to have a bigger presence than ever next year — I feel it’s our mission, something we have to do.”
